Christ the King Church
Fort Smith, Arkansas
Christ the King parish in Fort Smith, Arkansas decided to restore their original church in 2010. The "Little Stone Chapel" was originally built in 1928, gutted by fire in 1948 and restored in 1949. It was retired in 1974 when a larger, more modern church was built. For the next thirty-seven years it was reduced to utilitarian functions. The committee chose to renew the chapel with furnishings in a Mission style rather than undertake a historical restoration. The chapel was dedicated and restored to sacred use on 15 October 2011.
